Lexma Life Set 8310R: Keyboard-and-mouse combo minus the wires

About a couple of weeks ago, I inadvertently left my laptop’s mouse at home. Not wishing to dwell on it as a sign of imminent dementia, I promptly went out of the office to go and find a retail outlet selling computer peripherals.

A circuitous trek around Makati’s Salcedo Village finally led me to an Office Warehouse branch. The office supplies store carries several brands of aftermarket computer supplies including dozens of computer mice. After agonizing over which brand and type of mouse, I narrowed down my list to a pair of wireless mice.

While doing several rounds of “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,” I noticed a box containing a keyboard-and-mouse combo, both wireless too. Checking the price tag, I realized that the Lexma Life Set 8310R combo costs only 500 pesos more than either of the wireless mice I was holding. This prompted me and my impulse-buying best to opt instead for the wireless combo.

Features

Equipped with a 2.4GHz RF technology, the LS8310R offers an effective range of up to 10 meters of interference-free wireless connectivity. Meanwhile, its water-resistant design means its user can work in rough working conditions and environments.

With dedicated multimedia hotkeys, the LS8310R allows users to access their PC’s media files with ease and convenience.

Meanwhile, the three-button-designed mouse’s optical sensor, which is capable of capturing images at 5.8 megapixels per second, provides best-in-quality tracking ability. The mouse’s scrolling wheel, which is made of alloys, comes with a non-slip construction, simplifying the process of going through documents and surfing the Internet.

Designed for Windows 98/2000/ME/XP/Vista/7, the full package includes an international warranty and a user’s manual.

Performance

The LS8310R comes with a USB receiver-transmitter that, despite its minuscule size, is actually the heart of the whole setup. The keyboard and mouse both have an ergonomic design, which makes the combo comfortable to use even for extended periods of time.
Notice the combo's near-excessive collection of chrome dazzlers.
Despite its designers’ penchant for chrome, which makes the LS8310R more dazzling than an owner-type jeep from Las Pinas or Cavite, the combo performs well enough and meets most of my requirements.

My only complaints are its lack of built-in rechargeable batteries (The mouse needs a pair of AA batteries, while the keyboard must have a pair of AAA power cells.), and inconsistent sensitivity levels. Sometimes, some keys would not respond promptly to my typing fingers.

Overall, however, I haven’t had any buyer’s remorse so far. Although with its SRP of Php1,675, nobody deserves the right to be sorry for buying this combo.

Greetings Mr Allan Jose. I have just bought a used Keyboard and Mouse set exactly your model described here. Despite repeated efforts and change of brand new batteries, I have not managed a successful response from either the Keyboard or the Mouse.

As a last resort, I am referring to you: perhaps you still have the operating manual (in English). Would it be possible for you to email me a copy please? I would be very grateful.

Thank you
Regards
