Sony NWZ-B152F MP3 player: Gets out of my wish list, gets into my life

Last week, I finally gave in to my desires (at least, one of them anyway). I bought a Sony NWZ-B152F Walkman MP3 player, which happened to be on my gadgets wish list. Nope. I did not have a sudden and uncontrollable urge to splurge. I don’t have that much dinero to splurge with, in the first place.

While my original plan was to buy the Sony MP3 player sometime after Christmas, I found myself with no recourse but do so after my editor told me to do a story on a local television program that highlights how technology can help improve the lives of Filipinos. He told me to interview the talk show host.
The need to buy started making itself manifest after I could not locate my old trusty voice recorder.

The Sony MP3 player next to a ballpen, for scale. Note the SRP.

So, a couple of hours before my interview appointment, off I went to the nearest shopping mall, which in my case happened to be the Gateway in Cubao. After browsing through a pair of electronics retail store, I narrowed down my list to a Sony flash-drive voice recorder and the Sony NWZ-B152F.

I bought the pink version, the last unit on display.

That was a no brainer. I chose the MP3 player. Not only would it let me record future interviews, it would also help me get my music fix even (and especially) when I’m mobile. Besides, I have been looking for the longest time now for an excuse to cross this one out of my gadgets wish list.

So far, I’m enjoying the company of my Sony NWZ-B152F MP3 player.

By the way, the interview went well, much better than the usual. Not because of my interviewing skills (I have practically nil); credit should go to Tony Velasquez, host of ANC’s Future Perfect television program. It was fun interviewing him.
